We are working with Channel 4 to develop a documentary on drugs and drug addiction, in particular exploring the wider issues around dealing with the effects of young people's drug addiction within families. I understand this is a highly sensitive issue; however we aim to produce an intelligent treatment of how addiction affects people in Britain, fronted by someone with some experience in this area, to make these stigmatised situations more widely appreciated.
We are trying to find young people who are, or were, addicted to illegal drugs to take part with their families, and tell their story on television. I wondered if you knew of anyone who would fit this description and if it was possible to pass our contact details on to them; our phone number is 020 7226 2577, or email address is researcher@transparenttelevision.com. Obviously we would treat any correspondence in the strictest confidence with all concerned.
For more information about the documentary, please do let us know - we are very anxious to work with you to produce a sensitive and, ultimately, positive portrayal of drug addiction and its treatment.
Many thanks,
Researcher,
Transparent Television
